Merimbula is roughly 460 km from Sydney — about six hours down the Princes Highway — or a little over an hour in the air, with REX flying into an airport 5 km from our door. From Canberra it is about three hours; from Melbourne, about seven.
Driving in
Distances and times below are approximate and assume a normal run without a long stop. Add an hour to any of them in the summer school holidays.
From Sydney
South down the Princes Highway the whole way. It is a long but genuinely pleasant drive once you are past Nowra, and most people break it at Batemans Bay or Narooma. Leaving early beats leaving fast.
From Canberra
The quickest approach by a wide margin, over the Monaro and down Brown Mountain through Bega. Worth knowing if you are flying into Canberra rather than into Sydney — the drive is shorter than the one from the Sydney airport.
From Melbourne
East along the Princes Highway through Gippsland and Cann River, then up the coast. Long enough to be a two-day trip if you want it to be, and Lakes Entrance is the usual overnight.
From Bega
The regional centre inland, and the last supermarket-scale town before the coast. Handy to know if you are coming down from the Snowy Mountains.
When you get here
Check-in 2pm to 8pm
Reception is open 9am to 6pm. If your drive is running long, call ahead on the day and we will leave things ready for you — there is an after-hours line for exactly this.
Free parking, right at the door
On-site and included. The point of staying on this side of town is that you can park once on arrival and not touch the car again until you leave.
Two minutes to town on foot
Shops, cafés and the club. The lake is five minutes the other way, and most of what you came for is a walk rather than a drive.
36A Merimbula Drive, Merimbula NSW 2548 · 02 6495 3077
That address puts you at the town-centre end, which matters more here than it sounds — the three parts of town suit quite different trips. If you already know which one you want, the room list is the next stop.
